Dive Insight:
Georgakpoulos’s departure from JPMorgan, the largest U.S. bank, came to light earlier this month. Prior to his nearly two decade tenure at JPMorgan, Georgakopoulos was a partner at the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company, advising major banks, Fiserv said in the release.
At JP Morgan, he oversaw all aspects of the company’s payments division.
He will “work closely with the Fiserv executive team on driving positive client outcomes and delivering best in class technology across the enterprise,” the release said.
A Fiserv spokesperson said she could not provide any additional details about his job duties.
Georgakopoulos announced his departure from JP Morgan on his LinkedIn page, but did not say where he would eventually land. A memo sent to JP Morgan employees said he was leaving for a position outside the firm.
