Seamless will launch mobile payment solution on Microsoft products

Stockholm-based Seamless is set to launch its SEQR mobile payment solution for the Windows Phone and Windows 8. The solution will also be integrated with the Windows Phone Wallet.

To use SEQR, the company said, customers need only scan a QR code or NFC at the POS terminal and approve the payment by entering their PINs. The technology behind the solution means that there is no investment cost for retailers, the company added, and all that is required is a QR code or NFC sticker at the POS terminal.

The integration with Windows Phone Wallet opens up new opportunities for payments and value-added services such as offers, loyalty program, purchase history and integration with the stores' own apps, Seamless said in a news release.

"Offering SEQR via tablets and telephones with Microsoft technology is completely in line with our ambition to extend SEQR Mobile Payment to as many users as possible, and to establish it as one of the global standards for mobile payments," Seamless President and CEO Peter Fredell said in the release. "Our assessment is that (the) Windows platforms for apps will grow in line with increases in market share. Supporting the platform and Windows Phone Wallet will enable us to reach a larger customer base."

Urban Falk, business development manager, Microsoft Sweden, said SEQR meets the company's standards for simplicity, user-friendliness and security, "and also ensures a strong and growing business for the companies. We are pleased they have chosen our platform and Windows Phone Wallet as a marketplace for these particular added values."
