Revel Systems to expand into Europe with SumUp partnership
European mobile point-of-sale company SumUp has announced a new partnership with Revel Systems, a provider of iPad-based POS systems. Through the deal, Revel Systems iPad POS systems will be equipped to process debit and credit payments, as well as cash, using the SumUp API, the companies said.
The partnership means that Revel Systems, which already provides POS systems to merchants in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Saudi Arabia, will begin offering its solution in the European market.
"Revel Systems has already made great strides in terms of revolutionizing the humble cash register — but an inability to process credit and debit card payments was holding it back," said Florian Richter, U.K. managing director of SumUp. "Now that SumUp is on board, Revel Systems' customers will be able to take full advantage of the integrity of our secure infrastructure and the frictionless way in which we process payments."
Customers of Revel Systems will now receive a SumUp card reader with their equipment and will have the SumUp app pre-loaded on their tablets.
"Having brought the till into the 21st century, we needed to find an equally forward-thinking partner to give the retailers we work with the flexible options they need to take different types of payments," said Lisa Falzone, CEO of Revel Systems. "SumUp's technology is aligned with ours because it's lightweight, secure, and speedy. SumUp is a natural partner for Revel."
