PayAnywhere adds Amazon to growing list of retail partners
PayAnywhere is on a roll. The mobile POS company expanded its retail footprint in recent weeks to include Office Depot and Sam's Club. And today PayAnywhere announced that online retailer Amazon.com will be offering the PayAnywhere credit card reader and, through the Amazon Appstore, the PayAnywhere mobile app.
"As more businesses turn to online retailers for their everyday purchases, it is increasingly important for PayAnywhere to make our card reader available on the websites that businesses are visiting the most," said Scott Addyman, vice president of sales at PayAnywhere. Addyman said that as one of the most visited Internet retail destinations and a one-stop shop for businesses, Amazon is a natural fit as the next large retailer to offer PayAnywhere.
The cost of the PayAnywhere reader is the same at Amazon as it is at offline retailers: $9.99 for the reader, with a $10 rebate to merchants when they begin processing payments. PayAnywhere is also offering $1,000 in free processing within the first 30-days of account activation. Merchants pay 2.69 percent for transactions as well.
