Oxygen taps Allpoint ATM network to offer fee-free cash via its banking app

Oxygen, a new digital bank aimed at self-employed workers, will offer its customers access to more than 55,000 fee-free ATMs as it joins the Allpoint ATM network, a subsidiary of Cardtronics

Independent workers tend to experience variable income, often making it difficult for them to obtain loans. Oxygen hopes to give them some breathing space. Via its app and membership program, the San Francisco startup offers its customers simple access to credit that can be pulled down or paid off instantly at any time.

"When exploring options to provide our customers with physical access to their accounts, the Allpoint Network ATMs stood out as the logical conclusion – easy and cost-effective to implement with all of the convenience and accessibility our customers require," Hussein Ahmed, founder and CEO of Oxygen, said in a press release.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Allpoint is an interbank network connecting ATMs. It operates in the U.S, Canada, Mexico, the U.K. and Australia. Its ATMs are located in key retail establishments, including pharmacy, grocery, convenience and big box stores.

"This agreement with Oxygen demonstrates the importance of physical cash access to all banking customers, including those of forward-thinking innovators like Oxygen, Brian Bailey, Cardtronics EVP and North America managing director, said in the release.
