Mopay brings carrier billing to Wargaming.net

Direct carrier biller mopay is working with MMO game developer Wargaming.net to make it easier for more players to join the game. The company was selected by Wargaming as an alternative payment method so players in MMO (or massively multiplayer online) games can access premium content by placing the purchases on their mobile or landline bills.

According to Wargaming.net Chief Business Development Officer Nick Katselapov, mopay provides a payment option that is very popular among its international players.

"Our global presence and worldwide recognition of World of Tanks among players drove our decision to find a mobile payments solution with global coverage while also accounting for regional differences," Katselapov said. "Offering the ideal payment process for every single user enables us to provide maximum user experience even throughout the purchasing process."

As a direct carrier biller, mopay provides consumers in more than 80 countries an option to place digital payments on their mobile and landline bills. The billing method is particularly popular in areas such as mobile gaming or social networks where customers may not have access to traditional bank or credit accounts.

With Wargaming.net, mopay will let players quickly and securely make in-game purchases of the virtual currency so they can buy virtual goods such as tanks or other weapons without leaving the gaming experience.
