Kount, a fraud prevention provider, introduced a feature called Email First Seen, which allows users to prevent email fraud with AI-based detection capabilities. 

"Interactions including payment transactions generally require consumers to provide information including an email address for order confirmation, receipts, shipping, etc.," Rich Stuppy, chief customer experience officer at Kount, said via email. “Kount’s Identity Trust Global Network includes information on more than a half-billion email addresses, including how recently the email was created."

Stuppy said trust levels are typically low when an email is new, as fraudulent activity and automated attacks often use new credentials. The network establishes a real-time level of trust for each identity behind an individual payment, login session or when an account is created.
