KFC UK launches mobile ordering and payment app
AIRTAG, a provider of mobile shopping solutions, today announced a partnership with KFC UK & Ireland to launch the chain's first ever mobile and web app for ordering and payments.
The app, called "KFC Fast Track," uses AIRTAG's Airshop Solution, which enables proximity retailers to launch self-branded interactive mobile and web apps for advanced ordering and payments. KFC is now piloting Airshop in 10 restaurants across the United Kingdom. The app is available for iPhone users and will soon be available for all connected devices.
"Our customers lead increasingly busy lives and KFC Fast Track is focused on helping them order, pay for and collect their food faster than ever before, delivering a great experience throughout," said Paul Borrett, IT director of KFC UK & Ireland. "We look forward to working closely with AIRTAG and adding many more innovative features to KFC Fast Track in the coming months."
The KFC Fast Track app comes equipped with features created to enhance the ordering experience such as:
- Geolocation to easily locate the nearest KFC;
- Mobile and web ordering and payment capabilities;
- A mobile check-in feature for in-store order recall; and
- A customer account so users can store ordering history, favorite products and payment details for one click payments.
After an order is paid for, consumers can check their device for a QR code and order confirmation number for order pickup at their chosen KFC. KFC Fast Track users can pick up their order any time on the day an order is placed. Upon arrival at the selected ordering location, the user will do a mobile check-in to let KFC staff know they are present in the store. After checking in, the user gets to skip the line and proceed directly to a unique checkout dedicated specifically to KFC Fast Track users.
Also, in the near future, KFC Fast Track will include geofencing so users can do the mobile check-in before even arriving at the restaurant.
"KFC Fast Track will renew the ordering experience in a way that meets new consumer demands for efficiency onset by the increasing importance of multichannel commerce shopping," said Jérémie Leroyer, CEO and co-founder of AIRTAG. "We are very pleased to work with KFC in carving out a mobile presence that brings real value to end users and we are very excited for the program's roll out."
