EBS to become PayPal's first channel partner in India
Mumbai, India-based E-Billing Solutions has signed on as PayPal's first channel partner in the burgeoning Indian payment market. The partnership will help EBS' online merchants expand their reach to include customers around the world and accept payments in other currencies.
EBS is one of the largest online payment providers in India, with more than 5,000 online merchants. Those merchants will now have access to PayPal’s 113 million active accounts globally.
"India is a prominent market for us and we are delighted to partner with EBS to help Indian exporters sell to our global customers in 190 markets across the globe," said Mayr Patel, India Country Manager for PayPal Southeast Asia and India. "By integrating PayPal as their payment provider, online merchants globally have on average experienced an 18 percent boost in sales and 23 percent higher customer conversion rate than credit cards. Working closely with EBS, we want to help thousands of Indian merchants go global and experience similar growth rates."
EBS said the new partnership with PayPal will give even the smallest of Indian exporters a global reach immediately as opposed to the 30-day period offered by other online payment systems or the 90-day period for traditional export models.
Merchants will also have a single sign-on to access both their EBS and PayPal accounts. Integration and reconciliation is automatic through PayPal’s Express Checkout, giving EBS online merchants a one-stop payment solution to accept online and mobile payments in nearly 25 currencies.
