CorFire offering support for new Dunkin' Donuts mobile app
Now that Dunkin' Donuts has launched its own app to let customers buy their coffees with their smartphones, mobile payment and commerce company CorFire is stepping up to take some well-deserved credit. The company helped develop the app for Dunkin' Donuts and is responsible for the technology that makes the mobile transactions possible.
The Dunkin' Donuts mobile app, which was launched last month, provides an easy-to-use mobile payment function that lets users pay for purchases at the point of sale from a prepaid account using a barcode generated on their smartphone. It also lets users locate nearby Dunkin' Donuts franchises, check account balance and send a gift card to friends.
"Dunkin' Donuts is a great example of a merchant whose products and in-store environment are ideal for mobile purchases," said Jon Squire, CMO of CorFire. "Incorporating a mobile wallet offering to a customer base that is always on the go enhances their overall shopping experience, increases convenience and drives in-store foot traffic. Dunkin' Donuts has truly embraced the mobile medium, and it's an absolute honor to work with such a dedicated partner."
Scott Hudler, Dunkin' Brands Inc.'s VP of global consumer engagement said consumer feedback for the app has been extremely positive so far.
Headquartered in Atlanta, CorFire is backed by Korean mobile payment provider SK C&C. The company offers a number of mobile payment services including a trusted services manager platform, a mobile marketing suite and a white-lable mobile wallet platform.
