Chase Paymentech offers 'future proof' terminal to accept mobile, EMV

Merchant acquirer Chase Paymentech, a subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase & Co., has launched a new point of sale terminal it's calling "Future Proof." The device lets merchants accept pretty much every form of payment available, as well as those yet to be introduced.

From mag stripe MasterCard and Visa bankards to EMV chip cards to mobile wallets and NFC, merchants using the Future Proof terminal will be able to accept any and all as payment.

"As emerging payment options gain adoption in the U.S., merchants are looking to make the customer checkout process as easy and safe as possible," said Chase Paymentech President Mike Duffy.

Duffy said the new terminal is a one-stop solution that lets merchants keep accepting today's forms of payment and prepare for new consumer payment preferences to come.

Chase Paymentech said the new terminal will be available through Chase bank branches and through the company's website.
