Bango makes payment platform available to select U.K. digital merchants

The Bango Payment Platform, used by major app stores for Direct Operator Billing, is now available to select digital merchants, Banjo announced in a press release. From today, best in class, "app store quality" payments are available beyond the app stores, to mobile websites and HTML5 web apps.

Bango has built direct integrations into more than 130 mobile network operator billing systems, connecting those operators to the world's leading app stores, including Google Play, Windows Phone Store, Facebook, BlackBerry World and Firefox Marketplace, according to the press release.

This unique app store payment platform is now available to digital merchants selling directly to consumers, according to the press release. Bango Payment for digital merchants leverages the same robust infrastructure to deliver industry standard payment flows across all devices, allowing merchants to charge for content on smartphones, tablets and desktops. Bango Payment will initially be available to selected digital merchants in high value strategic markets, beginning in the U.K.

"Bango is uniquely positioned to bring app store quality payments to digital merchants," Ray Anderson, CEO of Bango said, in a press releae. "Only Bango delivers Direct Operator Billing to most of the world’s app stores across more than 130 of the world’s leading mobile operators. Bango has completely rejected Premium SMS payment, in favor of quality, direct operator integrations and uniquely authenticates users for one-click payment, even on Wi-Fi. By bringing these capabilities to the reach of digital merchants, Bango is promoting the best possible user experience, raising the bar for operator billed payments worldwide."
