Mary Carol Harris, the former director of mobile at Visa Europe, has joined Apple as the tech company continues to push Apple Pay throughout Europe, according to multiple reports.

Harris worked for mobile network operator Telefonica as the head of NFC prior to joining Visa Europe. 

Harris is the latest sign Apple plans to push Apple Pay in markets outside the U.S. The company is in discussions with China UnionPay to launch the system there. Apple has said is speaking with banks in the U.K. about making their cards eligible for Apple Pay.
