Alipay said it has launched a prepaid version of its mobile wallet through the Bank of Shangha's Tour Pass program, which is designed specially for inbound visitors to China, allowing them to download a mobile app for shopping, dining, travel and other purchases during their stays on the mainland. 

The app allows visitors to top up on the international version of the app that operates with the visitor's overseas phone, and then scan purchases at local Chinese merchants using a QR code.

Visitors can use their international credit or debit cards to purchase a prepaid card that ranges from 100 to 2,000 Chinese Yuan and the card lasts a total of 90 days.
